At our school, we had a nutritionist who talked with us about healthy food and other types of diet, such as vegetarian or vegan.
It was very interesting!

At Parrinho’s school we played an XXL board.
The questions were all about food and good environmental practices.
We had a lot of fun today and we learned a lot of new things!

Participants from all our project’s countries were warmly welcomed in our school, the 5th primary school of Volos, between 13th – 17th December 2021. Many an interesting activities took place during the mobility.
With the contribution of the head of the “Health Course” center we realized the complexity of the human body and the importance of touch through multisensory activation by performing “Walk, Feel…Learn”, a reflexology activity . We also performed Body Percussion in Greek songs’ rhythm. The participants found out that our bodies can be instruments and by using different parts of the body we can play the rhythm of different songs. Participants learnt to play the rhythm by using different body parts for famous Christmas songs as well as traditional Greek songs. What followed was the presentation of the partners’ countries and their hometowns prepared and shown by the students.
We also visited the Lyceum of Greek Women of Volos where we came in contact with the tradition and cultural heritage of our place and sang traditional Greek carols.

In addition, we visited the Byzantine Museum of Makrinitsa “Acute Visit” where we participated in two educational programs (“Knead Christ’s Bread” and ” Shrines from Jerusalem to Makrinitsa”. Next, a presentation of the importance of local herbs and a guided tour and hiking on mountain Pelion took place by the experts of the Environmental Education Center of Makrinitsa.
On the last day we visited the Archaeological Museum of Athens and joined the programme “The story of a fabled Hill”. Then we were guided to the Holy Rock of the Acropolis of Athens and the Parthenon. Finally, a walking tour in Athens historical centre completed our hosting.

We visited the “Casa do Forno” (oven house) in Parque do rio Ul (River Ul park) in São João da Madeira, Portugal, and learned how to make broa (typical portuguese bread).
We learned that corn kernels are ground in the mill through the action of water and with the help of a millstone.
Then we made the dough with corn flour, water and yeast. After that, we knead the bread, put in a wood oven and after 20 minutes… we all had a bread ready to eat!

Between the 4th and 8th of October 2021, Portugal hosted students and teachers in the Erasmus+ “Taste of Life” project. During these days, many activities were carried out in which the participants could get to know the school, the habits of life and the partner country. Visits were made to the Barra lighthouse (the second largest in Europe), to the city of Aveiro with a ride on a "moliceiro boat", to São João da Madeira - Art Centre, Hat Museum and Shoe Museum - and to the city of Porto, with a guided tour and on a "rabelo boat". At Parrinho's school we did many activities, relaxed and stretched in a Yoga class, challenged ourselves on the Slide, presented works on traditional dishes from each partner country in the project, had lunch, played, laughed, had lunch and shared experiences. Those days were amazing!

Since the beginning of our project, we launched our school’s blog to disseminate our students’ works. Here is the link to our blog. Enjoy!

On November 12-14, 2019, training for teachers from partner schools took place in Poland. A school from Poland, as the project coordinator, took care of the organization of the training. The training was financed from the allocated funds under the Erasmus+ European Union program project title: “Taste of life” KA229 – School Exchange Partnerships.
The training is a very important element of our project because it was to prepare teachers to the best possible implementation of the tasks and goals of the project.
The title of the training: What are key competences, how to develop them during lessons, methods and tools for shaping key competences. The role of the teacher in modern education. ICT – effective tools for developing key competences.
It was divided into two parts. The first “ICT – effective tools for developing key competences” took place at The Regional Teacher Development Centre ‘WOM’ in Częstochowa, Poland. Its main goal was increasing the competences of training participants in the use of information and communication technologies as well as innovative and activating teaching methods during lessons in order to strengthen entrepreneurship, creativity and creative thinking and action of students.
The second part of the training “What are key competences, how to develop them during lessons, methods and tools for shaping key competences. The role of the teacher in modern education.” took place at Polish school (Zespół Szkolno-Przedszkolny im. M. Kopernika w Hutkach) and was conducted by teacher trainer Karolina Kępska.
During the teachers’ stay in Poland, cultural elements could not be missing, therefore we proposed sightseeing the Jasna Góra Monastery in Częstochowa – a famous Polish shrine to the Virgin Mary and one of the most important places of pilgrimage, as well as a short trip to Krakow. During their stay at the school, the teachers took part in a ceremonial academy on the occasion of Independence Day, and also ate a traditional Polish dinner.

Mobilities, i.e. trips of students and teachers to partner schools, are the most important goal of our Erasmus+ project. Mobilities of students to partner schools are very important, during which they share their impressions of cooperation, results of work, compare methods of implementation, and work together on tasks. Mobilities also have a positive effect on peer relationships and the atmosphere at school. For many students it is perhaps the only opportunity to meet their peers from other countries in person, learn about their culture, talk in English, and visit their place of residence.
Our project focuses on the development of schools, improving the quality of their functioning, which is why we care about the development of students and teachers. Therefore, as part of the project, training for teachers took place, which concerned the use of ICT tools in work with students and the development of key competences.
As part of short-term joint staff training events we had the training for the teachers.
The training took place in Poland and its title was:
What are key competences, how to develop them during lessons, methods and tools for shaping key competences. The role of the teacher in modern education. ICT – effective tools for developing key competences.
As part of short-term exchanges of groups of pupils we planned the mobilities for the students:
Mobility to Spain – Christmas – tradition and modernity
Mobility to Portugal – You are what you eat – our national cuisines and culinary traditions
Mobility to Greece – The colours of late autumn. The colours of Christmas
Mobility to Italy – Ecologically means healthy – ecology in nutrition and its good impact on our lives
Mobility to Finland – Positive thinking and joyful attitude to life as an important element of a healthy lifestyle
Mobility to Poland – Taste of life – a summary of two years of cooperation
We were so sorry because we couldn´t travel to Greece due to covid-virus, but we met our project teams virtually and sent a presentation about Loviisa City.

So much to see, so much to learn. Museums, art, history, new friends, food cultures of different countries, sports… Thank you Portugal!
We have also made a blog in Finnish: https://edublog.loviisa.fi/skk/
